La Vénéneuse aux Deux Eperons by Stéphane Blanquet

Having nothing to hide would make us transparent and invisible beings. But with too much flesh to belong to the first state, only the second seems possible. For scientists, invisibility would occur through projecting in front of oneself, on oneself, what one’s opaque body is hiding from the eyes of the ones watching. In a […]

Hanté

by Philippe Dupuy

With the Journal d’un album, it had become obvious that the two-headed beast with four hands of the “Dupuy-Berberian” duet was in fact the confrontation of two individualities, of two styles that had been seen so far only in a combined form. In those solo pages, the reader could see two different sensibilities emerge, with […]

NonNonBâ

by Mizuki Shigeru

Whenever yôkai are mentioned, it is nearly impossible not to refer to Mizuki Shigeru’s work, where they feature prominently. If I had read it at the time of its publication I should have quoted from it in my recent PhD in the arts, where I do treat the question of comics as a possible 'minor litterature', following Deleuze and Guattari on Kafka. https://sbastien-conard.squarespace.com/texts/ http://sebastienconard.be
